What is Harp?

A large plucked string instrument with 47 strings and seven pedals that raise or lower the pitch of the notes. In the orchestra it adds shimmering arpeggios and glissandos as a coloristic voice.

Through the metaphor

A harp is not the loudest instrument out front; with a touch of the fingertips it reaches for the one clear strand of melody that makes a listener feel seen. The INFP attunes the same way to the small, real feeling beneath things and shapes it into something that moves people.

It would rather choose the meaningful note than win the showy passing phrase, reaching for sincerity and a quiet beauty over the easy applause. The INFP, too, seeks to create and find meaning rather than score the count of praise.
