What is The Tourmaline?

Tourmaline is a group of complex boron silicate minerals that occurs in an exceptionally wide range of colors, sometimes two or more within a single crystal. It is pyroelectric and piezoelectric, developing an electric charge when heated or placed under pressure.

Through the metaphor

Tourmaline grows in more colors than almost any other gem—pink and green in one crystal, a whole spectrum across a single family. The ENFP roams among ideas and people the same way, never confined to one shade, always drawn to the spark of the next possibility.

Rub or warm a tourmaline and it draws light objects toward it, charged with its own pull. The ENFP carries that same vivid warmth that gathers people in and brightens a place, emboldening those around it to move, too.

But a crystal forever flashing a new color rarely stays one shade long enough to be set. The same restlessness that finds a fresh possibility everywhere makes it hard to stay until one thing is finished—and the spark that never rests can quietly wear it down.
