What is The Aquamarine?

Aquamarine is the blue to blue-green variety of the mineral beryl, the same mineral species as emerald, colored by trace iron. Its name derives from the Latin for "sea water."

Through the metaphor

Sailors carried aquamarine to calm the sea and bring everyone safely home together. The ESFJ keeps a group warm in just that way—making sure no one drifts beyond the circle, and that each person is seen and cared for.

The stone's name means "sea water," and its clarity has long stood for steady bonds and faithful company. The ESFJ, too, weaves people together with warmth and tends the shared traditions that hold a group's sense of belonging.

But a stone that fears the company drifting apart works hard to keep everyone in tune. Reading the group's approval so closely, the ESFJ swallows the dissenting voice that might rock the boat—and may quietly bristle at the one who will not row in time.
