What is The Sapphire?

A sapphire is a gem variety of corundum (aluminum oxide), best known in blue but occurring in nearly every color except ruby-red. Blue sapphires are colored chiefly by trace iron and titanium, while other colors come from other trace elements; sapphire rates 9 on the Mohs scale.

Through the metaphor

Sapphire has been worn for centuries as a pledge of faithfulness and truth, a blue that does not waver. The ISTJ keeps that same constancy—carrying out its charge one step at a time, in order, finishing what it starts because a duty dropped halfway keeps no promise.
