Through the metaphor

The cheetah does not chase every gazelle; it waits, reads the angle and the distance, then commits to one precise burst. The ISTP stays cool and detached until the moment is right, then acts with exact, economical skill.

Between sprints, the cheetah rests; it spends no energy on what it cannot catch and feels no need to explain itself. The ISTP is self-reliant and practical, quietly working out how things function without needing an audience.

But a cheetah built for the burst tires of the long, slow stalk. The same instinct that fires perfectly in the moment grows restless with anything that asks for patience, commitment, or staying on past the thrill.
