What is The Frilled Shark?

The frilled shark is a rarely seen deep-sea shark with an eel-like body and many rows of needle-like teeth, often called a 'living fossil.'

Through the metaphor

The frilled shark looks like nothing else—an ancient, serpentine form that has outlasted ages by not following the rules other fish settled into. The ENTP thinks the same way, refusing the standard mold and finding the angle no one else considered.

It strikes by lunging its whole body forward like a snake, a method most other sharks never took up—an unconventional solution that simply works. The ENTP, too, argues an idea from its opposite side just to see how far it holds, delighting in the clever route others dismiss.

But a creature drawn to every odd new possibility rarely commits to just one. The moment a fresh angle appears, the ENTP easily veers off the path it was on—many routes opened, few followed to the end, and unfinished work left behind.
