What is The Snapdragon?

The snapdragon (genus Antirrhinum) is native to rocky ground around the Mediterranean and parts of Europe, North Africa, and North America. Its common name comes from the blossom, which resembles a dragon's mouth that opens and closes when the sides are gently squeezed.

Through the metaphor

A snapdragon’s blossom opens and closes like a mouth mid-sentence, and the plant throws out an unruly range of colors and shapes, never settling on one. The ENTP is the same—quick and talkative, trying an idea from the opposite side just to see how it holds, generating three angles where others see one.

Its strength is inventive range. Where a tidy bed repeats one form, the snapdragon improvises new combinations and finds the clever variant no one thought to plant. The ENTP works this way too—resourceful and playful, sparking a room with the unconventional route others dismissed.

But a plant forever throwing out the next new bloom rarely lets one mature to seed. The snapdragon scatters its energy across too many shapes and finishes few. The ENTP can drift the same way: so pulled by the next fascinating idea that the last one is left half-grown, many things started and few carried to done.
