ENFJ
The Swan
Extraverted · Intuitive · Feeling · Judging
Through the metaphor
The swan glides serenely across the surface while paddling hard, unseen, underneath. The ENFJ makes harmony look effortless in the same way, quietly carrying the hidden work of reading everyone and smoothing the path.
Swans fly in formation, and a strong one takes the lead to break the wind for those behind. The ENFJ naturally takes that lead, encouraging others and lifting each of them toward their best.
But the swan that breaks the wind for everyone tires its own wings first. Always reading the flock's needs, it can lose sight of its own—and quietly feel that no one ever broke the wind for it.
Strengths & challenges in this light
Through this lens, the ENFJ's strengths come down to the power to encourage and lift others and to make cooperation flow. The challenges grow from the same root: carrying the flock's needs so well that it overloads itself and leans too hard on others' approval. For the swan to keep flying at the front, it needs to let another take the lead now and then and name its own needs plainly.
