ENFJ
The Phoenix
Extraverted · Intuitive · Feeling · Judging
Through the metaphor
When the phoenix takes flight, even those who had been crouching lift their heads in its light. It warms all around it with its own flame and shares the courage to rise again. The ENFJ likewise takes the lead naturally, lifting people toward their best.
The phoenix can tell each heart's ashes apart and knows where to set a spark so it may burn again. It binds scattered souls into one hope and holds their trust. The ENFJ, too, weaves people into cooperation with warmth and conviction.
But the phoenix that burns for everyone is the one whose own flame runs down first. Always lighting others, it fails to notice it is turning to ash—and may quietly feel that no one ever warms it in return.
Strengths & challenges in this light
Through this lens, the ENFJ's strengths come down to the power to encourage and lift others and to bind people into one. The challenges grow from the same root: burning so much for everyone, it overloads itself and leans too hard on others' approval. For the phoenix to keep giving light, it needs to let someone share their fire with it now and then, and name its own needs plainly.
