Through the metaphor

A parasaurolophus carried a long, hollow crest it could sound like a horn, calling across the distance to reach the whole herd—reading danger before it arrived and guiding the others toward safe ground. The INFJ moves the same way—sensing what a situation really needs beneath what is said, and holding steady toward a quiet vision of where it should lead.

Its strength is a quiet, far-carrying insight. Where others react only to what is right in front of them, the parasaurolophus reads the horizon and sounds the note that turns the herd together. The INFJ carries that same depth—hearing the unspoken and pairing deep care with a long-range sense of purpose.

But a caller who keeps the whole herd oriented rarely sounds its own distress. The parasaurolophus warns for everyone else and keeps moving, giving until it is spent, never signaling that it, too, needs shelter. The INFJ can fade the same way: so tuned to others that it forgets to voice its own need, holding things in until it burns out.
