Tiramisu

Through the metaphor
A tiramisu hides its depth under a plain dusting of cocoa; beneath it, layer after layer of coffee-soaked sponge and cream has quietly drawn the feeling all the way through. The INFJ reads the same way—past the calm surface to the soaked-in feeling and the real need no one says aloud.
Its name means "pick me up," and the whole dessert is built to lift the person eating it; the depth is in service of warmth, every soaked layer aimed at comforting. The INFJ likewise pairs deep care with a quiet, long sense of where things should lead.
But a sponge that absorbs everything around it can take on more than it can hold, growing heavy and soft until it can no longer keep its shape. The INFJ, too, soaks up the room's tension and others' pain and keeps giving in silence, until they are spent and never thought to ask for relief.
Strengths & challenges in this light
Through this lens, the INFJ's strengths come down to the insight that reads the unspoken need and a steady sense of purpose. The challenges grow from the same root: always absorbing others, they forget their own need until it bottles up and they burn out. For the tiramisu to keep lifting people, it needs to name its own need before it is soaked through.
